Acroud, in cooperation with the Olympic Park Casino, is organizing a one-week live tournament in Tallinn in June 2021 with a buy-in of €550 and numerous side events.
Here you can find all information about the new project.
The company launched one of the most successful European poker tournaments in 2012 with the Battle of Malta.
The tournament, with a €550 buy-in for the main event, attracted more than 4,600 players in its last live edition in 2019 and played out more than €2.2 million in prize money.
Thanks to COVID, live tournament operations are currently on hiatus for the most part, but Acroud plans to hit the ground with a new tournament series this spring.
It will stay true to the successful Battle of Malta concept and offer a poker festival where buy-ins are affordable, there are plenty of off-table activities and hundreds of players will have a fun week.
The Festival in Tallinn
Under the name “The Festival Series”, the event series is heading for the young capital of Estonia, Tallinn, from June 7 to 12 and is organizing a poker and casino festival with 27 individual tournaments at the Olympic Park Casino right in the heart of the young city.
Poker will be offered in various facets: classic NLH tournaments, Pot-Limit-Omaha, Knockout tournaments, Rebuy events, Drawmaha (or also called “Sviten”), 8-Game and Dealer’s Choice.
In addition, there will be a multi-day Roulette tournament and a multi-day Blackjack tournament.
Buy-Ins range from €50 up to €200 for the highroller event.
The poker main event will have a buy-in of €550 and the blackjack and roulette events will have buy-ins of €250 each.
COVID Contingency Plans
Planning a huge casino event with hundreds of players sounds like an optimistic bet given the current global COVID situation.
The Festival Series is betting that by late spring COVID will be under control enough for players to travel to Tallinn without problems and for poker tournaments to take place.
Looking back to 2020 suggests that this bet will work out.
Last year, the Olympic Park Casino in Tallinn was able to host both tournaments and cash games thanks to a strict hygiene concept.
At the moment it seems very likely that this will be possible again in June this year without any problems.
However, in the event that the tournament cannot take place, they also have a plan ready.
In this case all tickets and packages will keep their validity and will be credited for the next event.
In this case it will be ensured that no players will be left with tickets or packages that they cannot use due to COVID.
Venue
The festival in Tallinn will be held at the Olympic Park Casino in the heart of Estonia’s capital.
The casino is connected to the Hilton Hotel Tallinn and the hotel’s premises will be shared for the tournament.
Players can purchase packages that include accommodation at the hotel.
The hotel and casino are just minutes from the airport and Tallinn’s Old Town is within quick walking distance.
Online Satellites
There will be online satellites for both the poker and casino tournaments.
Several partners are already on board, among them Paf, Olybet and casinoroom.com.
Players will be able to qualify for the main events for buy-ins as little as 1 Cent and hundreds of packages are already booked by partners to be played out starting this March.
Big plans
Tallinn is not the only destination for the new tournament series.
There are already plans to make a stop in Bratislava from September 20th to 26th, where a sports betting tournament will also be included in the lineup.
All information about the tournament series can be found on the website TheFestival.com.
